On the 6th October 2009 Singleton Birch was named as the 'Best Small to Medium-Sized Company (less than 600 Employees) for overall Health and Safety Excellence' at the annual Mineral Products Association (MPA) Best Practice Award Ceremony.
Singleton Birch was one of the 51 member companies of the MPA that met the entry criteria in terms of injury statistics. The award was independently judged by RoSPA, is extremely prestigious, and is external acknowledgement of the excellence of the company’s approach.
The Sir Frank Davies Trophy was presented to the company by Lord Jordan of Bournville CBE, President of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).
The award is the result of the company’s overall commitment to Health and Safety and the willingness of everyone to play their part, including suppliers and contractor partners.
