UK based with worldwide reach…

Birch Lime is the UK’s leading independent lime supplier, with a worldwide customer base. Our product range includes quicklime, hydrated lime, natural hydraulic lime, graded chalk, aggregates and other specialist products and services.

During the early part of the 20th Century, the majority of the shares in the company were owned by Lionel Martin, who also founded the Aston Martin racing car company. His second wife Katherine left most of her shares in trust for the benefit of the NSPCC, RSPCA and Barnados. The Katherine Martin Charitable Trust remains our largest shareholder today.

Our products are used in the production of steel, various chemical processes, waste and water treatment, purification of flue gases, production of lightweight building materials and various other sectors of the construction industry. Lime is a natural and traditional material with a history going back thousands of years. It is also a modern industrial chemical produced to strict quality control standards, which can be developed to meet new challenges.

Waste management is a growing area of our business. Our non-hazardous landfill is engineered to the highest standards to prevent any possible contamination of the local environment. We are currently developing alternative energy plants which will utilise renewable fuels and non-renewable wastes. We also have proposals to build a state of the art waste to energy plant, which we hope will be the solution to the non-recyclable waste in the North Lincolnshire area.

Singleton Birch is registered to ISO 9001:2008, OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001.
