Customer Services Supervisor – Birch Lime Sales

Singleton Birch are a long-established UK company supplying quarried and lime products, logistics and landfill services.  Our products are used in many applications including agriculture, water treatment, environmental protection, construction and steel.  The Company’s quarry is progressively restored with material deposited in Campwood landfill or the Eco-Park.

The Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising customer services; maintaining strong relationships with customers and ensuring all necessary internal and external communication is presented in a professional and friendly manner; overseeing and organising the day to day activities including: taking and processing orders, dealing with customer queries and ensuring deliveries meet customer expectations.  You will also be responsible for ensuring that customer records are up-to-date and stored appropriately, any reporting requirements are completed on time and that supporting processes are operating efficiently and effectively.

What we require:

To be successful you will need to be an excellent communicator, being friendly and attentive to support a diverse customer base.  Have expert knowledge and high level of experience in customer services, whilst being able to supervise a small team. Be well organised and have good computer skills. Training can be provided for the right candidate.

The role is based at our site in Melton Ross.

Electrical Shift Engineer

Singleton Birch Limited are the largest independent Lime Operators in the UK. Running 4 Maerz Kilns in a 24/7 operation producing Calcium Oxide to both internal and external processes and customers. The Role:
As a Shift Engineer you will play a pivotal role within the Operational site team, reporting into the Electrical Maintenance Engineer you will work as part of a team of multi-skilled engineers in the delivery of the Engineering strategy to support the ongoing progression of the site performance.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Routine PPM’s & Safety Inspections
• Attend, Diagnose and Repair electrical issues across multiple plants & equipment
• Install & fault find on AC Drives
• PLC Fault Finding
• Instrumentation Installs & Calibrations
• Drive & maintain quality engineering solutions & standards
• Ensure all plant equipment is maintained to standards set by the Electrical Maintenance Engineer
Qualifications & Experience:
• Time served Electrician with NVQ level 3 as a minimum
• 18th Edition & IOSH Managing Safely is desirable.
Knowledge of
• Allen Bradley Drives & PLC’s,
• Siemen’s Instrumentation
• Control Circuits & Pilz Safety Relay’s

Assistant Engineer

The Role:

As Assistant Engineer you will play a pivotal role within the Operational site team, reporting into the Maintenance Manager you will assist him in leading the mechanical maintenance within Singleton Birch. Taking the lead on larger maintenance tasks to free up the Plant Engineer to carry out their duties. You will assist the Quarry Plant Engineer in leading the maintenance on a Night in the Quarry every 3rd week. Working a rotating shift pattern with 2 others, you will work 2 weeks of days and 1 week of nights.

Stepping up into the Plant Engineer’s role to cover holidays, training, and sickness.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Routine maintenance
  • Repairs as necessary to ensure that equipment is fit for purpose.
  • Inspections and safety checks
  • Execute the maintenance plan across all areas of site
  • Ensure all plant equipment is maintained and performs to levels that do not impact customer service or compromise EH&S

Qualifications & Experience:

The ideal candidate will have a HNC or relevant experience in Mechanical Engineering. This role would suit someone who is capable of motivating others to deliver results. Must be able to work collaboratively at all levels within the company, also with suppliers and contractors.

IOSH Managing Safely is desirable, as well as general IT skills.
