On the 1st September 2016, Lewis Armstrong, Quarry Control Centre Operator, officially opened the new facility based within the Singleton Birch Ltd Engineering Building.

The control centre comes at an important time for the quarry operation as it transitions from the old quarry south of the A180 dual carriageway to the new reserves north of the road.
The latest technology computer control and CCTV allows the whole operation to be monitored and controlled from a single location. Engineering and Production personnel are co-located to ensure they are working closely to optimise the process as an Integrated Team.
