August 6, 2024Singleton Birch seeks a temporary Logistics Co-ordinator to join our current team for up to 12 months. The business is in the process of installing an ERP system and require an additional resource to support the period of development and transition.
The role will be working within our Sales & Customer Service department, which is responsible for all company sales related enquiries and customer ordering processes through to delivery to customer site.
The successful person will be responsible for answering all calls (via phones and site intercom system) associated with drivers attending site for the purpose of delivering customer orders. This will include entry by site access barriers and use of weighbridges. They will action all tasks that ensure accurate and efficient weighing as well as drivers adhering to the site rules. They will also cover the other customer services functions during holidays and ERP testing/training as required.
Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- To monitor and support incoming and outgoing vehicles associated with the customers deliveries to ensure accurate and efficient weighing processes at the site weighbridges.
- To collaborate with drivers, haulage companies and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth daily operations.
- To ensure administration systems such as the driver induction system and those associated with the weighbridge operations are current and up to date.
- To support the Customer Services department with tasks associated with the day-to-day operations and provide cover for other team members in times of absence.
- Any other activity that is commensurate with the scope and level of the role
Job Requirements (Qualifications and Experience):
- Demonstrable experience in a similar role
- Experience of weighbridge operations preferred
- Experience of Microsoft packages and CRM/ERP systems
