Singleton Birch supporting Engineering UTC

Singleton Birch supported Engineering UTC Northern Lincolnshire with a prize of a Vernier Calliper to an engineering student at the Christmas Fayre.  Our Head of Technical Chris Meyer delivered a Chemistry lesson on titration with their Head of Chemistry also in December and just in time for the mock exams!

Kelly Butler (Head of Chemistry said “It is so refreshing to deliver experiments in partnership with a local business who are creating an essential product needed to the nation and globally on a massive scale. Students often question why they are learning essentials, and when we put them in the business, then bring the business in, it gives them a greater understanding of sciences in the world of work as well as aiding them to retain the important learning for exams, as well as future learning in sixth form, apprenticeships and on to University. Students met with Chris on a tour to the quarry in the summer, and for him to then come in and continue the lessons is fabulous. The students were so engaged and really enjoyed the lesson.  We look forward to continuing this valued relationship with Singleton Birch.”
