15 Singleton Birch employees had an amazing time at the ‘Winter Wolf’ Mud Run, Stamford Hall Leicestershire this month.
Jake Redgate-Large, Birch Lime’s Trainee Quarry Supervisor organised the event. Jake is a keen ‘Tough Mudder’, taking part competitively throughout the year.
The event involved 10km of field and woodland trail, river, mud pits and various high level and underground obstacles. A highlight being the massive 300 metre water slide.
The team started and finished the event as a group. The athletic participants such as Jake, helping the less energetic along.
Team spirit and team building were a key part of this, coupled with the training and health benefits in preparation.
Many of those who were apprehensive pre-event have found a new level of confidence and enthusiasm for outdoor fitness.
The talk is already of taking part in the same event in the Spring!
